Now I know why it is called the misery line

Two years yes two years.
That is how long us long suffering north Londoners are going to have to put up with closures at the weekends on the Northern Line.
I have relied on the misery line all my adult life. And never was the term more appropriate.
We are now facing:
20 months or 82 weekends with the line closed.
16 months of of weekday closures at 10pm
Who are you kidding? This is a key artery for commuters and as far as I can see the only people who will benefit from this will be cabbies and the Tube Lines, the private sector company undertaking the works.
This is just bonkers. And who was responsible for the most complex, detailed and quiet frankly insane public private partnership contract in British history?
Step forward one Mr Gordon Brown.
