Liberal Peer attacks Israel AGAIN

Baroness Tonge, the Liberal peer, has once again attacked Israel.

She said this week that Israel should set up an inquiry to disprove allegations that its medical teams in Haiti “harvested” organs of earthquake victims for use in transplants.

The organ theft claims were published last week in the Palestine Telegraph, an online journal based in Gaza of which Baroness Tonge is a patron.

She stated to the Jewish Chronicle that: “To prevent allegations such as these — which have already been posted on YouTube — going any further, the IDF and the Israeli Medical Association should establish an independent inquiry immediately to clear the names of the team in Haiti.”

Is this the first time she has attacked Israel? Well no.

In 2004 when she was still an MP she was forced to stand down as a party spokeswoman after saying of Palestinian suicide bombers: “If I had to live in that situation - and I say that advisedly - I might just consider becoming one myself.”

At the time Tonge refused to apologise: “I was just trying to say how, having seen the violence and the humiliation and the provocation that the Palestinian people live under every day and have done since their land was occupied by Israel, I could understand…”

Bowed but not out she added in 2006: “The pro-Israeli lobby has got its grips on the western world, its financial grips. I think they’ve probably got a grip on our party.”

This is abhorrent and she must be condemned by anyone sane in her party and across the political divide.
